Never made it to the NBA. Played mostly in Europe for a while.Whatever happened to Ed Cota? That guy was solid at UNC.
Strength wise yes but there is more to basketball than strength or dunking. Bird was slow and had a weak vertical, yet he averaged more rebounds than LeBron and assists. Birds era was different as well. LeBron has wide open lanes to the hole. That never happened back in the day.LeBron would smash Bird. But both couldn't even come close to Jordan.
Players like Jordan, LeBron, AI would dominate in any era. Bird's rebounding had more to do with his knowledge on where to position himself. Just like Rodman you don't need to be athletic to rebound. Just tenacity and knowledge of where to position yourself.Strength wise yes but there is more to basketball than strength or dunking. Dominate? Doubt that. He might get to the free throw line a lot but I doubt he could keep up with teams like the Warriors.Yeah but Bird could shoot. That in itself would allow him to dominate in today's era, especially with the touch fouls called.
You're also forgetting that Bird also benefited from the lack of fouls called in his era.Yeah but Bird could shoot. That in itself would allow him to dominate in today's era, especially with the touch fouls called.

Definitely one of the greats. Just don't think he would dominate in this era.I see that as respect. Still think he was great and would dominate because he could shoot! Dude was tough as hell.

To dominate you have to be able to impose your will and game against any opponent. How would you define dominate?
Shaq and Hakeem come to mind, but Kevin Garnett is very draftable. To dominate you have to be able to impose your will and game against any opponent.
I remember watching Shaq play for LSU. It was first time I KNEW I was watching a star play before they made it.Shaq and Hakeem come to mind, but Kevin Garnett is very draftable.
