what are the new smart centers like in comparison to the old ones that exist now
? Or are they the same. Are there improved logistics that benefit the driver and preloaders

A series of automated label applicators will misapply labels on top of the barcode of every package you receive.

You will receive most things broken open.

The new centers come ready for Millenials and soy boys. The nap room is stocked with fresh blankies and can double as an emergency therapy center in case someone gets offended. And there’s an office you can go to for a bottle and a back rub while you’re posting on BC about how you’ve been with UPS for 3 days and are wondering if you’ll get fired for taking 2 weeks off. Mommy already bought the plane ticket!

Like is it easier to load the trucks, more modular. Improved logistics reducing late air etc. What benefits do the drivers have

With a new building comes a new time study. You lose about .5 per route. They hire an additional driver sup so they have smaller driver groups. Makes it easier for the sup to stay on you about your under/over. They need to pay for that building somehow.

Here's a photo of the brand new state of the art sort center outside of Paris. We have really come a long, long way.

The new one is Salt Lake is a :censored2: show. The system is throwing packages at new hires at a rate of 1200/hr and the unload sorting machines can't process any tape ups, or ORM-D's, and are still half as fast as a traditional sort isle. The irregs on unload are neck high to pull off the extendo's. Also, for some stupid reason they dropped all that money on the hub and only one out of five doors has an extendo, the rest is the cheap :censored2:ty rollers. I'll bet they rip out all the automation in the next ten years and beg for a return to their lazy ass sorters and pickoffs.
