Always get a lawyer, UPS has dozens working against you. You would be a fool not higher one. From the very first moment after you report, your asked about the injury, you are being analyzed and set up to make a mistake.
I was going to say this. Never talk to them unless you're represented. Every question they ask you is set up to minimize or put the injury on the member.

Management is not your friend. Especially in an injury situation.

That’s why it’s best to get a lawyer as Workmen’s Comp. is a legal matter more than a labor issue. Once you have a lawyer they no longer can ask you questions. They are directed to your lawyer. Workers comp lawyers. usually charge nothing until they win. Most local union are affiliated with one and can give you a referral.
