New Video! Is the buyout even worth it?

My “family” are both married (with kids) and on their own.

I wonder if he could sign up for the retiree plan early?
Well, maybe you don’t have a wife I believe I heard you did not anymore. The amount of time I work directly, affects her as I’m older than her and will probably die before her. I wouldn’t make that kind of huge life choice without including her. I’m sure she would support anything I did, but she has a right to have an input. Maybe that’s why I’m still married?

Hold in brother

It's almost impossible for me to get my retirement paperwork done in one month.

That will leave my family without healthcare. Until all the paperwork goes through.

The date they gave me is August 31st

Sorry that doesn't work for me
Have you called your pension fund to see if you could sign up for the retiree health plan early? Premiums are normally deducted from your pension check but you may be able to sign up and self pay. Worth a phone call.

Taking the buyout and going on Cobra would make zero sense.

…which is why you need spousal sign off on vasectomies and will soon need one on 401k withdrawals…
