When is the only time when maturity or unity forwarded as a positive notion in our political process?
Upon my observation it is only when the left is in control of the government.
The most recent example is the Trump win in 2016, immediately the left called for impeachment, notwithstanding he hadn't even been inaugurated and daily until inauguration thru election day November 3, 2020 the message was Trump is illegitimate, a second impeachment trial is scheduled even as he is not holding the Presidency.
I have seen absolutely no call for unity in the four previous years for the good of our nation.
None.
Now it is essential the right unify, be mature for the good of the nation, to move things forward don't you know.
An observation I have made in the past, (this is not the first time similar events have occurred,) is each time the right does have some that try to be the bigger person and work with the left.
Exhibits include John McCain, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and I can expand the list of the "enlightened, mature" for unity sake don't you know.
The result is the left hands our ass to us and incrementally moves their agenda down the field.
A further observation is each time the right is in control of government the lefts calling card is, "speak truth to power, no justice no peace, " or some other iteration, and they hold fast, they understand unity. Who could possibly agree with the party of racism, robbing healthcare, not caring for the disadvantaged and so on among us? These are clearly lies but unity of party, unity of political philosophy, their demands, are greater than national unity or positive progress for our nation.
No, I prefer not to have my ass handed back to me, incrementally because of some notion someone must be the bigger person, more mature, I've seen that movie before.
No thank you.
Kick their ass, destroy the enemy, politically and let the chips fall where they may.
You be the bigger person, not me, I'll fight on the terms the enemy lays down, make no mistake they are the enemy of this great Republic.

We do not adopt their ways in the name of battle or in the name of unity. We make our ways upright then others will see their wrongness in contrast. If we act like fools, we will be fools.
