What do you think would happen to our union pension if UPS does away with the teamsters. Seems like the writing is on the wall.
It would most definitely be a smaller one as well. You would be transferred to the company pension plan.
I would love to lose our pension and see that money in my check.
That's pretty much what I meant.I would prefer it be deposited directly in to my 401k.
That's pretty much what I meant.
And still not have enough money to pay the bills. If it were in our checks the majority of guys would spend it.
That's because they did not win at the casino or the lottery. Still have money for cigarettes though. And still not have enough money to pay the bills.
I would love to lose our pension and see that money in my check.
Just read an article about how 401k have been a huge failure. Almost 40% of people have under 10k in their accounts.I agree as well. I put no faith in someone else managing my finances. Give it to me and I will save it or invest it. I have coworkers that talk all the time about how they are looking forward to their pension in 20 years. If it's there for me great. But I like to be on the more cautious side of things. I spend less, save more and plan on pension cuts in the future. Better to be prepared than caught with my pockets empty relying on someone else to give me money. Do we deserve pensions? I think we diffenately all work hard enough in this company to have earned it. But my advice for anyone is take care of yourselves and save on your own. The way retirees are being scalped these days you might have to just keep on working!
Holypeople we already have one that's a massive failure.
If left untouched is pretty much non existent when it comes to government ran.Social Security, if left untouched, would continue ad infinitum.
The people that save get penalized. Those who don't get rewarded. If left untouched is pretty much non existent when it comes to government ran.
There's already plans in place on a federal government level to take from retirement accounts that have over x amount and give to the poor. The people that save get penalized. Those who don't get rewarded.
I agree. Obama wanted to tax 529 plans and give free community college. Thankfully that failedThere's already plans in place on a federal government level to take from retirement accounts that have over x amount and give to the poor.
I may retire to some tropical island.
If you truly believed that, you wouldn't save...so do you save? The people that save get penalized. Those who don't get rewarded.
