I got to work this morning and was talking to a driver that was out of another center. He came over to help us this week. The first thing I noticed was the OVERWHELMING amount of colonge he had on. I personally like cologne but not that much. I don't get it. How come guys have to bathe in the stuff? Before everyone jumps I know that women do the same thing. And to that I say the same thing, Why? I haven't noticed any of the women that I work with, wearing heavy perfume. I don't generally wear perfume at work and if I do I try to keep it a light scent, that has virtually worn of before I get half way thru the day. Thoughts?

I only wear Knowing, have for years, everyone comments on it, but no one ever passed out. It lasts through the sweat, the snow, the mud, blood beer and diesel.
It lasts forever but is never overpowering.
some guys I work with bathe in cologne, and smells give me migraines, which is why I like this one. I cant smell it. My Dad used to buy me Charlie, and I love it but after awhile....................I just wear it occasionally, as it brings memories back. Funny how sounds, smells, songs do that HUH?

My favorite smell is garlic cooking.....it doesn't work well as a perfume.

I have 2 favorites.....Angel and Pink Sugar.

Pink sugar reminds me of a cotton candy smell.

With Angel, you need just a small spritz. It lasts all day even in a smoky casino atmosphere you'll smell wonderful.

Years ago I used to like Shalimar.

When it comes to the fancy bar soaps, I love the sandlewood and the orange aromas.

My wife is allergic to perfumes. I wear no colognes.
Unscented, everything. Soap, shampoo ect...,.
Luckily, when I sweat I have no "smell".
I don't know if it is my diet or genetics, but I just do not get "funky".
I sweat more than most and am soaking wet by 10am and stay that way all day.
Dirty, yes.
That damn black aluminum oxide from the shelves is all over me and it does have a "scent".
Overweight people seem to wear more " scents".

Sat you are lucky. By the end of the day I can't stand to be around myself, at least from what I can smell. My hubby is like you. He will sweat if it is 50 outside, but I can't smell him at all.

Smell has the most powerfull connection to memory of all the senses. It's amazing what can be recalled when triggered by a special scent.

When my son was a teenager (long time ago) his basic guide for colonge application was there had to be visible fumes rising from his head and shoulders. You could see what path he had taken through the house on his way out by the lingering vapor trail.

Anyone remember British Sterling; that stuff had some staying power. If I were to smell British Sterling today I would immediately be transported back to high school. (Long ,long time ago)

Now I'm thinking about my first love, never will forget her........

If there was ever a scent that reminded me of High School anybody remember "Hai Karate"? Wonder if they still make that cologne.

Amen to that. I remember grease and brake fluid, and smoking tires.
I still see him, and the last time I did, he smoked the tires for me. I was getting a title done, and when I walked out the door, there he was. This is 35 yrs later mind you. It does not in anyway take away from the life you have built with someone else, it just brings back memories that no one can take away. First loves, thats a nice one.
And the song, your momma dont dance and your daddy dont rock n roll....dr hook?

For work I wear Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good. It's a formidable scent... It stings the nostrils. In a good way. I'm gonna be honest with you, it smells like pure gasoline. They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

He may have really bad BO and thinks he is balancing it out, which everyone knows doesn't work. Of course, he may have smoked a fat'n before work, too.

It's a known fact that next to sight, our sense of smell triggers memories the most. My grandmother always kept Juicy Fruit gum in her purse, and I'll never smell that stuff without thinking of her.

correct on loggins and messina. Dr Hook did Freaker's Ball and cover of the rolling stone and sylvia's mother. Oh dear, I can remember the words to all three but darned if I can remember what we had for dinner two nights ago. Must have gone to the freaker's ball one too many times. :happy-very:

One point that hasn't been discussed (I don't think) is the fact that the person who showers in cologne/perfume may not even realize that their overuse of these products may infringe on the senses of those around him/her. We have several drivers in my bldg who smell as though they have showered in cologne rather than water but I have found that if you pull them to the side and mention this to them politely they tend to say that they didn't realize and thank you for bringing it to their attention. Then again, there is always that person who thinks that they smell good and brag about their affect on persons of the opposite sex. I have always personally found that less is more, whether it be in the use of cologne/perfume or in their wardrobe choices (less skin leaves more to the imagination IMO).

Is it time to go home yet
Every morning the driver in the truck next to mine opens up a bottle of cologne and proceeds to splash it all over himself. Its a little joke on the belt,If we didn't see him come in we know he's there once we smell his cologne.
