I’ve actually had two crashes in almost 20 years ruled “unavoidable“. Amazing.

Ot the other hand had to fight one for another member where they ruled “avoidable”: UPS driver is following (with proper distance) another vehicle on resi street. Other vehicle comes to stop, UPS stops good two car lengths back and waits. Other vehicle (no plates, dented up, missing taillight and plastic where rear window should be..aka TweakerMobile) throws car in reverse and backs into UPS who is blaring horn.

Ruling: avoidable because we were following too close. No, UPS was stopped cold. The following distance measured in seconds was infinity. Company want to terminate because driver had a minor backing crash within nine months. Because a tweaker on a public road in traffic stopped and threw it in reverse and tagged him. So avoidable 🤣
