This the thing I don't understand about how people understand politics or political movements or political history. I have no idea what that potentially meaningless flier from UPS giving very generic support to black business owners whom UPS partners with is blamed on Nancy Pelosi.Great job NAAAAAANCYYYYYYView attachment 312597
So the US has a very brutal history of racial discrimination and this discrimination impacted every aspect of American society. This racial discrimination caused the creation of a whole political movement that pushed the government and businesses to end racial discrimination, and this caused the government to measure how racial discrimination impacted black Americans. One of those measurements involved the lack of business opportunities for black owned businesses from investors, banks, due to a lack of access. So both the government and the political movement created to fight racial discrimination are very interested in businesses giving black owned businesses opportunities.
Now I suppose we all support equality in America, but the question becomes how do we measure equality and how do we foster equality in a nation with long standing and continuing racial inequality? Now one may not like any of these facts about America.
One may not like the fact that there is a whole political movement interested in eliminating racial discrimination and that ending racial discrimination through government enforcement and policy matters to millions of other Americans, and one may not like that this political and social pressure to end racial discrimination causes businesses to show token support in favor of racial equality, and as part of that token support, they send out vague supportive messages to their black business partners, but none of that stuff has anything to do with Nancy Pelosi. So, its very strange that this is the connection one would make to that flier.
