This the thing I don't understand about how people understand politics or political movements or political history. I have no idea what that potentially meaningless flier from UPS giving very generic support to black business owners whom UPS partners with is blamed on Nancy Pelosi.

So the US has a very brutal history of racial discrimination and this discrimination impacted every aspect of American society. This racial discrimination caused the creation of a whole political movement that pushed the government and businesses to end racial discrimination, and this caused the government to measure how racial discrimination impacted black Americans. One of those measurements involved the lack of business opportunities for black owned businesses from investors, banks, due to a lack of access. So both the government and the political movement created to fight racial discrimination are very interested in businesses giving black owned businesses opportunities.

Now I suppose we all support equality in America, but the question becomes how do we measure equality and how do we foster equality in a nation with long standing and continuing racial inequality? Now one may not like any of these facts about America.
One may not like the fact that there is a whole political movement interested in eliminating racial discrimination and that ending racial discrimination through government enforcement and policy matters to millions of other Americans, and one may not like that this political and social pressure to end racial discrimination causes businesses to show token support in favor of racial equality, and as part of that token support, they send out vague supportive messages to their black business partners, but none of that stuff has anything to do with Nancy Pelosi. So, its very strange that this is the connection one would make to that flier.

While it's true that democrats are american citizens, and they have had a horrific history of mistreating black people, there is no need to rope the rest of Americans in to your liberal guilt. You guys have plenty to make up for, you should probably get to it.

Wearing the colors of the tribe that sold their fellow Africans into slavery is not sending the right message.

I have no idea what any of this means to you. Black people were enslaved before there was America. Black people weren't considered human before there was America. The people who wrote the constitution before America existed which didn't allow black people any rights by banning slavery weren't democrats or republicans at that time, so locating racial discrimination in a political party is ahistorical bs.

What does cherry picked history mean to you? I am talking about racial discrimination that predates America as a nation, racial discrimination that predates political parties and the constitution. I am talking about an American problem that was there at this nation's founding. I don't see how that's cherry picked history. It is American history.

It doesn't matter what predates what. White people were slaves, Asians were slaves. You're right slavery was in the Americas before the US. It was all around the world all throughout history. Within 75 years of the founding of the US, white people were fighting the south to the death to end slavery, because the Democrats in office refused to abolish slavery. Once the civil war ended, democrats passed segregation laws, and the list of terrible things democrats did to black people continues. You have a lot to feel guilty about for voting democrat, the party of racism and slavery. Better get to making amends and stop pretending other people are responsible for your atrocious decisions.

I don't disagree about Nancy even though I don't like her , she has let the power that the people have given her to go right to her head and I believe it is time for her to go . But the thing I have a hard time with is the perception that this country is racist . We had 8 years of a biracial president and there are many very successful black business owners , CEOS , management , doctors , politics etc. The opportunities are there for anybody who works hard regardless of your race . And with the President opening up freedom of choice for schools for kids , that opens the door for more opportunities in the future !!!

This is ahistorical nonsense. Slavery is an American problem created by American society. Every aspect of American society benefited from that discrimination. Pretending that democrats created American slavery and anti black discrimination is ahistorical nonsense.

Plus anti-black discrimination wasn't located in just the democratic party nor the south. In fact, the anti black racial discrimination laws passed in the south had to have the approval of the federal government and the local police, and local and national newspapers and universities and small businesses and large businesses and banks and insurance companies and wall street and the military and the majority of white Americans. And when black people came up to American cities or started moving around they faced discrimination everywhere they went from all of those institutions and individuals. So the idea that anti black racism is a democratic problem that had nothing to do with the rest of America is ahistorical nonsense.

The thing that I really don't understand is why the Democratic party gets off the hook for their shady past . They are absolutely responsible for the racial issues that this country has had in our history . That party needs to be held accountable and the media doesn't say a word and until that happens there will be unrest . The media also needs to be completely overhauled with the ending of Media bias . For instance , not one word about Kamala Harris grandparents being slave owners , a potential VP with slave owners for grandparents . I wonder how that would have been received if Pence had that in his family !!!!

They protected slavery , embraced slavery and fought to keep slavery and who knows how things would be today if it weren't for Abraham Lincoln . My guess , not good!!!

Slavery existed in every corner of the globe. Most of Rome's slaves were white. It wasn't just an American problem. It not only was brought to America but already existed among Native Americans too. Give some thanks to clever white men who in the pursuit of profit invented machines that made slavery obsolete. I think we've gone to great lengths to make things fair and equal. At some point blacks are going to have to look at themselves objectively and try to solve problems in their community that aren't white caused but ultimately are blamed on whites. And white liberals are going to have to stop playing up the race card to get the black vote. Which will probably never happen.

the question, I'd ask you is why does your perception matter? What is your having a hard time perceiving racial discrimination supposed to mean to the organizations and people fighting racial discrimination?

I can show you videos of very normal looking nice sounding white people during the mid 1960's south, saying they didn't think the south or their state was racist and blah, blah, blah. Just think if those people at the height of the Klan, at the height of white race riots killing black people by the hundreds, and the lynchings and black people not being allowed to vote or go to school or work certain jobs or go to certain hospitals, those white people could live that everyday and not perceive racism. What makes your lack of perception anymore reliable?

Please show me where I said slavery was just an American problem, but in this discussion we are talking about American slavery. The rest of your post is irrelevant nonsense. Black Americans using their government to address American social problems is how American politics work. Also, addressing racial discrimination has nothing to do with blaming white Americans. Also, there are no such things as black community problems. There are only American social problems created within American society. I know many Americans believe that there is something collectively wrong with the black Americans that causes American social problems, but that's just an example of the same old American racist understanding.

Neo Marxists use the lie of systemic racism to advance their evil ideology to stupid sheep. When you hear people ramble about slavery in the year 2020, you know they are either a liar or a sheep.

This makes no sense to me. I think most Americans are aware that southern Democrats were racist and pressed for racist laws, but again the south and the Democratic party are American. So I don't know how one pretends that American racism is a Southern Democratic creation. It is just ahistorical nonsense. The whole of America practiced anti black racism.

What is a neo marxist? What is their political ideology? And who are prominent neo Marxists in American politics? I think you are throwing out political buzzwords that have zero meaning in American politics. I have never heard anyone say I am a neo marxist. I have never heard an elected politician in America say I am a neo marxist. I have no idea what neo marxists are supposed to believe. It is all pretend nonsense.
