Post a Picture of your hub

Here's the Pleasantdale Hub in Atlanta, GA. I park in the lot on the far right and walk to the end of the building on the far lower left to my center. As if I didn't walk enough during the day delivering stops!

So true! That parking lot on the hill is terrible. I had to go there a couple times in the middle of the day, and parked in the farthest corner away from the hub. By the time I got to the District office, my suit was mess. Totally soaked in sweat. I didn't find out until afterwards that I could have parked right up front like Dow and company.

That hub looks like it is surronded by trailers, where are the package cars loaded?

does ups own the land and the buildings. I have heard that fedex actually leases many parcels of land, and maybe even the buildings they use, does anyone know more about this??

UPS owns the land at my center, and the land and buildings around it.

UPS does own the land and building where I work and even had the foresight to buy additional land behind our building in case of future expansion, which is already in the works. Our hub not only processes the volume that we bring back as pkg car/feeder drivers but they also process trailer loads of RTA furniture from Canada, mostly for WalMart. We have just about outgrown our facility and have been in it less than 5 years.

We are inside the building. There are 10 Boxlines that go across the building and we are backed into them and that's how the trucks are loaded. It's a pretty big hub divided into 5 centers (North, South, East, West and Central). There are over 60 ground routes per center so that's over 300 package cars inside the building, not counting the 100 plus air routes. We have kinda outgrown the hub as at least 20 trucks are loaded outside each morning at our air-recovery (drop off) area. They did create a whole new hub in Roswell, GA that delivers to areas that used to be in our hub.

I find it interesting that a lot of these satellite photos show these Hubs with empty employee parking lots. It looks like these shots were taken on the weekend. The one I posted has one car in front of the guard gate and most of the Package Cars parked outside. The Google photos I have looked at for my delivery area are at least four years old too, they are missing my newer subdivisions.

Yeah, I think most of these were taken on a Sunday or something. The one I posted up has a pretty full parking lot though.
