Well folks, first off, anyone with the company for a lengthy amount of time, you've earned my respect, for what its worth.

FRom you feeder drivers to the unloaders, it's hard work, that could be made easier if every individual, management/supervisors and the union work force would do their job to the 'best of their ability'.

Since I won't be able to drive, which is what I wanted to do, and I KNOW I don't want to be a preload friend/t supervisor(way to many headaches and hours), time for me to get on with my life elsewhere.

Been fun talking about work and other things here, and I will be around from time to time to see if things changed at all. ;)

Good luck to you all and cheers!

Good luck. There is life after UPS, you just need to figure out what it is and go for it.

Best of luck.

mojobuc-Good luck in future endeavors. I just put my pension apllication in and will be leaving July 15th so I'll be joining you in the free world. You will always be apart of UPS so continue to come here whenever you want.

mojo,

Your situation sounded worse than many other places, but the system is pretty much designed to make you feel under pressure and leave each day feeling like you didn't accomplish what you would have liked to.

The experience should make most anything else you try seem easier and more positive, good luck although I doubt you will need it.

along the way and I know the experience has only helped me grow into a more complete person, ok2.
Just wasn't so sure I wanted to develop that part of me.

As for our building, not sure since it is the only one I ever worked in, but FRiday, our usual mild mannered building manager was blowing a gasket in the mens room to who ever would listen, about how it is the worst place, as far as attendance goes, he ever had to work.

dannyboy, I was blessed to have married a great wife and we decided together that we'll find out if the real estate industry (appraisal side for me) is our path. Worth a shot. Besides I was doing ok b4 UPS, I'll find my way again.

Wily, enjoy your retirement. Just talked to a driver last week that retired about a year ago. He's doing well and looked good, better then the first month he came by. That time he had a full beard and looked like a ZZ Top wannbe Harley and all. :D

4 more days!

good luck, Mojo, I think you made a good decision. Talked to a former mgr today that quit a yr ago, and said it was the wisest decision they ever made. I tell everyone who doesnt have major time invested to get out and use your brain, or your degree. Dont waste it on Brown, unless you are pleased with your progress. Good leaders will get you where you want to go, others will not care as long as you carry them. I hope God Blesses You, and yours.

Good luck mojo!

We're losing PT sups left and right and most are going to a logistics company that is moving them up fast. One kid left a little over a year ago and now is responsible for the area of 2 states which I'd think is about equal to a District manager. This kid can handle it too.

We had a PE FT Specialist just announce he's leaving to better opportunities after getting his degree and having the door shut in his face. The guy had been in operations, hourly and PT sup, driver, etc. and really understood what we were about and had the old school work ethic but sadly a corporate jet manufacturer is getting a damn good employee and engineer. At the same time I see this company hiring management trainees off the street instead of promoting from within which goes totally against what we are all about and what Casey built. Just another example of the fact that more than just the logo changed a year or so back!

mojobuc, Good luck to you. I have alot of respect for a guy who has the pair to go out and make something happen for himself. Far too many guys will stay miserably at UPS and whine for the rest of the career about how they hate their job, life is way too short for that!!

Can't think of anything to add to what has already been said, although if I'm not mistaken, Mojo posted here for the duration of his entire UPS experience. Happy Trails Mojo!

Good luck Mojo. I have made plenty of friends along my 26 year career at UPS who have left for other endeavors. Some have made it, some haven't been as fortunate.

It all depends on you. Real Estate is a good career if you work hard, and you would have that work ethic to have made it at UPS.

Good luck!

should put my 2 weeks in at least once a month.
Have had my coffee and donut bought for me 2 days in a row by different drivers! this is sweeet!

Seriously, didn't think I was as much appreciated as i am, and it feels good, except for its making it a decision you start to wonder if only because of the people.

Tooner, its funny you say that, one of the least active of the friend/t sups looked at me today like he lost his puppy or something, didn't say anything though.

teddy I agree, life is too short to be miserable, and I have also told a few thee the same, but to no avail.

over9, its never too late.
my2, actually been with ups since Jan-02/03 as a temp. they cut us all out except me. They asked me to train a UPS girl who had 9 years in to be my replacement.
After a month she didn't want the job, and no one else did, so I was offered it. SO I offically started in Jan of 03

Thanks to all of you, I'll take the best wishes and luck, but hoping(working at) my plan actually works.

Have you thought about Home Depot? Maybe it's because Home Depot has their corporate headquarters in Atlanta as well, but I've seen plenty of management go over to the Orange of Home Depot and are very well off. Same money if not more, and a lot less stress and bull crap.
