Question about after peak layoff for preload

Hi, on Monday our main supervisor told us at a meeting that they're layingoff people and people who started during November need to call in to see if worker are needed. I was confused after the meeting because I wasnt sure if I'm supposed to show up on the 26th or not. My area supervisor didnt say anything to me to show up like usually so I figure I didnt have to come in since there was a sign up list already. My question is how does the layoff work at UPS do they tell you that you're layoff and do they give you a document indicating that you're layoff?

That would have been a good question for your supervisor...
Perhaps you should call and see if they need you.
There is no document. This morning when I went in I was happy to find out I wasn't needed. I should have called first but didn't think about it.

UPS lays people off on a day to day basis. I'm unaware of any permanent layoffs in package operations.
If you need the money, show up everyday anyway...
