One of the classic tv shows I grew up with.
It seems like all of those old actors/actresses are suddenly dying off.
Nobody gets out alive!
No ones pulled it off yet.
she was one of my heros.
No one said "cement pond" the way she did.
Anyone remember her and the "double barreled slingshot"?
Can't believe she was 29 when hillbillies started.
She was hot!
Listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed........
Great. That's gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Wouldn't want you to be straining your brain to remember all the words....
Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.
Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there"
Said "Californy is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.
Well now its time to say good by to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality
Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.
Y'all come back now, y'hear?.
I always wondered why Max Baer hates being associated with this show ?
Baer has definitely been an ass about his Jethro role. Total lack of class. He should have paid attention to how Buddy Ebson behaved.
A true Gentleman .
He may have hated the role, but when he wanted to open a casino in Reno, the theme of it was the Bev.Hillbillies.
