Sept 8th Presidental Address to children across America

That's already been arrange. But why require Obama to be the first President to all of a sudden jump thru loop holes to talk to schoolchildren because of a few angry radicals.

Might be the first president to want to take his health care plan directly to the kids.

I do enjoy the efforts by the left wing nuts on your side to classify every protest as "angry radicals" . It really helps my cause in the next elections if you folks keep denying there is any disagreement. Pigheaded politics will set me free from the liberal cancer.

Most people? I highly doubt it. Like Jones says, most people think this big stink angry republicans are putting up are whack jobs.

Yah might find out that most people are the whack jobs.:happy-very: then what ya gonna do?

We all know, Rep idealogy is to extend the tax cuts for the rich, and to cut spending in areas like Education. Republicans have no intentions of raising middle class(teachers) wages, just those in high places with connected friends.

We all know that "we" like to keep our money and keep the government from spending too much. "you" representing the idiots currently in charge have not figured this out. They think a mandate for change gives them carte Blanche to implement all kinds of Big Government spending programs. The pendulum is swinging back the other way. Try not to get hit when it does.

If thats the case, your base ought to hone their blade and oil that pendulum shaft...cause it couldn't cut butter....lol

Moby does some interesting stuff but I like Brian Eno and his Roxy Music replacement Eddie Jobson but when it comes to pure electronic, it's 70's Tangerine Dream all the way for me. And dare I not forget Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis.

My daughter has several keyboard/workstations she uses for composing and writing music and I'm always getting caught trying to find out just how many weird sounds I can get out of those beasts!

"DAD PLEASE!"
:happy-very:
Holy Cow ... we got to get together for lunch.
I have just about everything Tangerine Dream ever put out. Had 27 vinyl albums. Had everything Jarre put out, everything Klaus Schulze put out and most of Vangelis.

Klaus has been doing a lot of stuff with Pete Namlook that is good.
Dark Side of the Moog V - Track 5 of Psychedelic Brunch is really good.

I have most everything in MP3 now
Jarre - 10 albums
Tan Dream - 26 albums
Vangelis - 4
Schulze - 8 albums

I also like King Crimson quite a bit and the Ambient Sounds album by Eno was revolutionary.

Sold all my albums on ebay years ago. Some of the above artists fetched 20 -50 dollars per album.
Sold a Morton Subotnick (early, early electronic) for over 200 dollars.

Big Fripp fan! Love the early KC stuff especially Crimson King and Posidon. Bob has been a real innovator on guitar even coming up with a new tuning system for guitar called "New Standard Tuning". The guy is a real genius.

When Prog moved towards pop in the mid/later 70's it's was just an easy step into electronic and jazz for me. BTW: one of my favorite musicians and producers in Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree is a doing a complete remix for re-released of the old Crimson catalog in surround sound. KC also has a new album out as well.

Hey Tourist,

Bob Moog to keyboards is in many respects what Les Paul is to guitarists. Back in the 73' a friend of mine got a mini moog and we spent hours and hours trying to sound like Keith Emerson or Rick Wakeman. The key word there is "TRYING"! :happy-very:

And I'm still trying, ask my daughter!

Hoax,

Probably my favorite guitarist is Steve Hackett, best known for his early Genesis years but several years ago he recorded a live CD and with John Wetton on Bass/vocals, Julian Colbeck, Ian McDonald and the awesome Chester Thompson on drums. They covered In the Court of the Crimson King! Hope you enjoy.

King Crimson (sort of) - In The Court Of The Crimson King

BTW: Only one subject I'd rather discuss than politics?

MUSIC!!!!!!!!

When you respond to a post -please do not put words in my mouth or try to pigeon hole me as a Repub or Dem.
I am an Independent American who is disgusted with the majority of our politcians who ONLY serve themselves and the Lobbies that give then the CASH.
IF you look again at my education post ---I am recommending a huge money investment in technogy that works in the Century we are now living. The special interests group --The Unions --wants to continue pouring money into a failing education system -trying to teach as if we are still in the dark ages. Put away the chaulk and boards ---THE COMPUTER age has arrived. PAY the very best teachers MORE --Hire class Monitors that can assist the CBT teaching. The children of today --not only deserve it --they are demanding it --Take off your PARTISAN blinders for a moment.
I believed Obama when he said no more interests groups --no more lobbies ---HE IS JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN.:sad-little: They say BUSH lied ?????

Strength through joy
To whom this may concern;

1.) National news services, along with internet news, has yesterday, and today reported heavily that on Sept.8th,2009,@ approx. noon central time, mr. barack Hussein obama will address the nation’s children en-masse by live TV and internet. He asks that schools nationwide have their students watch / listen to him, and, even afterward, participate in some type of letter campaign and question answering as to what kids can do to assist HIM.

I want to know if this school is planning, or will in fact, direct your students to watch / listen / participate in this affair-

My child, Ciera Anthony,8th grade, is NOT, REPEAT,NOT to be forced, asked, or coerced into this flagrant attempt of indoctrinating my child into mr. obama’s youth corp. and help his agenda.

She is to be sent to a study hall, or sit outside, or sent home-she is not to hear one word of this partisan political speech.

2. Internet news services, along with print and T.V. news, report on the Obama administration soon to be sending out “CENSUS KITS” with school children to take home.

My child Ciera Anthony is NOT to participate in this legally questionable activity. neither by asking or coercion.

3.) when asked by myself on 8 / 31 ‘09 if FORCED MANDATORY swine flu vaccinations would be coming to Corinth Jr. high school, the principal Mr. Nippers quoted to me “SOON”.

Under the law of the constitution of the United States of America
Particularily Amendment four ( 4 ) as a U.S. citizen she enjoys the right “ to be secure in their person “ and shall not be violated.

My child Ciera Anthony will NOT comply. No attempt is to be made to forcefully vaccinate my child with the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. as her parent, I am to be notified of any time / date of this event beforehand, and I will remove her from the school.

This vaccine contains 25 micro-milligrams of MERCURY in the form of THIMEROSOL. ONE micro-milligram is considered toxic to the human body. This vaccine also contains the GULF WAR TOXIN SQUALENE, used as a “binder” of ingredients and leads to the neurological disorder Guillian Barre disease which affects the nervous system, mimics POLIO, and is a leading cause worldwide of non-trauma PARALYSIS. My child will not comply.

I am available for any question or discussion you may wish to have.

Thank you in advance,
Jay Anthony

Being that a whole hosts of Ex-Bush worshippers desserted their republican base for the security of the Independent party, your right, I'm guilty of tying Ind with Reps. That's my hang up, but I've got news for you, there will always be politicians in Fed Gov't. Those who are anti-Obama or, anti-establishment won't be satisfied unless someone who fits their profile is calling the shots.
There's a whole host of Education reform info if you google Obama Ed. There it will spell out the direction this Adm wants to improve the quality of Education and bring it up to speed, so our children can stay competative with the rest of the world, and increase the best teachers pay...etc. This Adm understands performance is not based on checks and squares that a multiple answer test implys. I don't know how or where you formed your opinions about teacher unions or org's but they seemed to be onboard with this Adm's ideas, and who else better to ask as consultants with actual hands on experience. Now here lies the problem, the resistance screams "Big Gov't" with every penny spent on a program, even as important as education. It's a no win situation with the critics.

Bush & Reagan only gave a talk, not an accompanying lesson plan and that's where the objection lies.

Now some schools are saying there will be a punishment for kids who don't attend.

So what's the deal....if you discover you have swine flu, just go to school that day or risk punishment ???

Go back to early 2003' and let's say George Bush decided to do what Obama will do tomorrow. My guess is that those who support Obama now would be opposing Bush and those opposing Obama now would be supporting Bush.

I really admire just how principled you democrats and republicans are. No wonder the country is :censored2: UP!

I think the reason Al Qeada hasn't attacked again is because they realize when it comes to destroying the country, they can't hold a candle to you clowns!

And BTW: Those of you who 8itch and moan about Obama's "socialist" ways and yet avail yourself lock, stock and barrel to the "socialist" educational system and sat in deafening silence when Bush added his own "socialist" touches should stand up and start Living the Outlaw Life if you really believe a lot of the stuff you keep saying!
