Small Sort to FDC

I signed a bid sheet to go to FDC from small sort last week. On Tuesday, I was told that I am going to FDC. The supervisor over there told me that it would be about 5-9 days before I was moved. I told her that I would accept the job on that Tuesday.

I asked my boss on Monday and Tuesday if he knew of a time frame when I could go. He said to me, kind of frustrated "Look, you are going to go to FDC when small sort is fully staffed. Stop asking me everyday!" (paraphrased).

I feel bad for him, because we are severely understaffed. However, I have a friend who went to FDC who waited for 3 months because they are understaffed. I was wondering what is the appropriate amount of time before I file a grievance to get moved.

There is a time limit on filling a bid job. Maybe 10 days or something. Happens to drivers who bid a new route all the time because now they have to train you on a new route and someone else on your old route. Contact your Union representative.
