That’s Craptacular
The reports of 6' were exaggerated---official totals were 60" or less in areas to the south of Buffalo. The city itself escaped the brunt of the storm.

Lake effect snow is not like a typical snowstorm. It could be snowing 3-5"/hour in one location and just be cloudy 5 miles away. The plume of snow shifts depending on how the wind is blowing off the open water.

Would anyone who lives in Buffalo actually admit that they were from Buffalo? :)
Ohhh only 60 inches? Well then, Meteorologist Dave....I wonder the start time is? Maybe a quarter past....no way in hell??

What was decided in regards to operating hubs, and having drivers on the streets for today?

There was nothing on upsers regarding operational emergencies in either Syracuse or Black River.

We were very light today as a result of the storm. We will probably be light again tomorrow and very well may not catch up until Monday.

The feeder guys were telling us just how bad it was between Watertown and Syracuse. One of them came down 81 but refused to go back up it, instead taking 90 to Albany and 87 to Plattsburgh. The other had no choice as he had to go to Potsdam before going to Plattsburgh.

There is a second round of lake effect snow set to start tonight and end Friday morning.

Just isolated and of no Consequence / Exaggerated, according to you know who...

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Snowstorms and record low temperatures whacked much of the country this week — and there’s more havoc coming Wednesday.

Buffalo, N.Y., one of the hardest-hit areas, is buried under 6 feet of snow — and counting. The city’s Mercy Hospital is short-staffed because many employees couldn’t travel.

 Good call, Dave. Hurricane Sandy blew out to sea alright....I have 6 tree stumps in my backyard to prove it. Don't forget waiting 5 hours on gas lines and not getting any gas because the stations kept running out.... and 12 days without heat or electricity in November! Best. Peak. Ever. And in all fairness, I was one of the lucky ones....no house damage.
