Well, technically, there’s no such thing as government retirement money. The money is taken from the people then redistributed. I 100% guarantee you that if I had kept all that money myself, I would’ve been better off myself. If your argument is, it makes society better then so be it but there’s so many problems with Social Security. It may collapse on its own eventually. And at the very least be much less than what was promised.
but you make 30/hr or more right? alot of people dont; more than half the population doesnt make that money
yea its money from teh govt. they can print it, or borrow it, or tax it or steal it from another country haha
i think society would be worse off for sure without it, which is why there was demand to make it in the first place
what im thinking now is companies used to give defined pensions. how many were giving defined pensions when social security was first invented?

Anyone who saves 10 to 15% of their income would be better off. It’s really not hard and you don’t even have to be smart.
OK, @rickyb if the money comes from the government, why do they even charge us taxes? They can just print money and we could all be happy and live however we want.
Are you admitting the government taxing us is just a way to keep regular people poor?
