Suspected serial killers don't make headlines any more?

News to me this evening: Driver in Houston was arrested on the job for a 1990 rape/murder, and is a suspect in at least two other recent cases.

"Police said they do not believe McGregor met his alleged victims through his job as a delivery driver." CLick2Houston.com

Thank goodness.

I work in the same center as this guy.

It's pretty much the entire topic of conversation at our building. I started telling people on route I didn't know him just because I was wasting too much time BS'ing with people who felt I knew more information than the news media is putting out.

Unfortunatly, he was a friend of mine, we both started preload within weeks of each other, and both went full time within a few months. He was strange, but would definitly not win the vote for most likely to be a serial killer in our center.

Baudzilla, thanks for your response. I certainly hope the guy's not guilty for a couple of reasons. I was just amazed that he was arrested Monday and this is the first I've heard of it.

Peace from out East (NC)

It's all over the news here in Houston. However, I think UPS is trying to keep it on the down-low. I have not even seen my center manager or the building manager since it went down earlier this week.

Why would I help when he can have the pleasure of paying someone like you to get him off?

Oh wait, thats right. You dont know how to reference legal material. All you can do is strut and brag, but when asked to put up or shut up, you run.

If the guy is guilty, which it would seem with the DNA evidence he is, then he needs to be taken out of circulation.

My question is how did he ever end up as a driver with all those priors on his record.

Yes I have noticed him. But so have several others. I already work by him, but he is no threat to me.......Unfortunately the law protects the criminals, the insane and the just plain old perverted.. They are everywhere. Ill bet there are even some on here.......

Surely not!

BTW, ever notice that wonderboy's time is too valuable to post anything of substance, but yet he has time to cruise the board regularly? And read and post?

Speaking of perverts, they just busted four guys here for child porn. They had over 17,000 photos each on the computer, and most of the children were under 10. Three have had priors to this for sodomy and rape, child molestation etc. Really funny note, the fourth was remanded to the custody of his parents. Hell the guy is 33 years old.

Like tooner said, the criminals have all the rights, the children have none. just think of all the damage these animals have done to those children, long lasting damage.

No one had yet posted on my question. How did a creep like that ever get hired with all those priors on his record?

Everyone has rights. Everyone should have rights. The child has rights, the accused have rights. This is a America. If you get the chance read the Constitution and The Federalist Papers.

REally least? What rights do the children have? The ones that were sodimized by the photographers. What rights did the women have that were killed raped etc. What good to rights have for you when you are dead? Tell me about those rights. And I guess the person that commited these crimes had special rights so they can do these things?

Id like to know about your views on rights.

Obviously you didn't read my post.

The children had plenty of rights. Life isn't fair. My father died in a car accident. He had the right to drive his car but he died by a drunk driver. The person violated the law and my father died. I don't think the drunk driver should go to jail without due process. He had rights as did my father.

Read the constitution, read what our forefathers wrote. We all have rights. The child had plenty of rights and his were violated and the person violating them should be punished to the full extent of the law.

So what does the post I made have to do with rights or the removing of those rights? My question remains. With the strict guidelines that UPS has when hireing people, how did a person that had a criminal background get hired in the first place?

As for the creaps that had the child porn on the computer, so you think their rights are equal or surpass the rights of all those children that are now carry these scars for life? They are criminals. Deal with it. YEs they will get a fair trial. But will the sentence they serve be on equal footing with the damage they supported?

I too have lost family to drunk drivers. My wife lost an uncle and aunt and their spouses to a drunk, while leaving 5 children orphans. And he has the right to a speedy trial. But why was he out driving drunk, after getting caught driving drunk 11 times in the two previous years, without a licence etc etc. Because he had rights?

HE gets out in a few years, because he has rights. And he has the right to drink and drive again.

Why?

You confuse rights and powers. No one has the right to drink and drive. They have to power to drink and drive. They have the legal right to drive but not to drink and drive.

The problem with a person getting out after eleven dui's has nothing to do with rights but in a faulty judicial system that should punish harshly someone who has proven themselves to be a threat to society.

A person accused of child porn should have all of their rights. Once convicted these rights become diminished and they should be punished HARSHLY. Courts and judges should be held accountable, that's what elections are for.

Work within the system. If you aren't happy, vote, write letters and become involved. We are in control of the world we live in.

You are confusing rights with legal rights. Drunk drivers have the legal right to drive until they lose their license. Then we "take those rights away", correct? But so why do they keep on driving? And we keep on letting them drive. We dont take the car away from them, we only put them in jail for short times. They feel its their right to drive.

Same with those that break the law.

As for those that get caught red handed, yes they do have the right to a fair trial. So you think that rights and power are not the same, so how do you take the power away from those that have misused it.
convicted these rights become diminished
You diminish the rights, but leave them with the power to repeat the crime over and over. And while doing so, violate the rights of many more victims.

Force the judicial system to take away the power. If someone is convicted of drunk driving put them in jail if they do it again jail and the car is forfeit. Better yet, make me swipe my drivers license every time I buy alcohol and if I've proven that I abuse the right don't sell it to me.

If someone has proven that they are unable to handle liberty in a responsible manner then take away the libery. Make the judiciary responsible.

Make the judiciary responsible

Why?

If you want rights, show responsibility. No rights without responsibility. Why should every one else respect your rights when you dont respect others rights?

It might sound like I am arguing with you, but we are much closer than you think.
