No drug user has only one dealer. There’s no way to identify who he bought specific drugs from or how they were mixed after he bought them before he used them.

It was the guy in the Mercedes with him, who was paying him in drugs to try to pass fake bills at the convenience store. That was established by Momma's testimony.

defense should call him . Ask him if he did and then let him invoke the 5th.

From what I understand, he went on the run, and has been caught out of state on other charges. Said he would only testify if given immunity. Prosecution doesn't want that, because his testimony would probably prove the defense.

You cannot go by civil right complaints.. He was a white cop with over 15 years service..In today’s culture cops expect to be targeted as racists even when they follow correct procedures. He did have records of merit also..

That was Robert Barnes' opinion on the matter. Based on Barnes' experience Chauvin's complaint history was consistent with a cop with actual problems. I'm just trying to throw the racist lefty cop haters a bone.

Chauvin could already be serving time for whatever culpability he may have had if the prosecution didn't want to make a show trial out of it. Even Dershowitz thinks the murder charges have no merit, and he doesn't like Chauvin.

How many prosecutors will there be ?
Their attempt to highlight each different prosecutor's strengths has turned it into a clown fest.

So far the prosecution has set the stage by having the girl friend acknowledge that the decease was a drug addict, did buy drugs from a another male , who now says he will not be cooperating and did swallow several pills prior to the police's arrival.

Why should we believe the tale the girlfriend of a terrible drug addict criminal tells?

Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo thoroughly rejected Chauvin's actions during the arrest of George Floyd last May as contrary to department policy. "Once Mr. Floyd had stopped resisting, and certainly once he was in distress and trying to verbalize that, that should have stopped," Arradondo testified.
The chief said Chauvin's kneeling on Floyd's neck for nine minutes and 29 seconds is not a trained tactic and was a violation of the policies around de-escalation, objectively reasonable use of force and requirement to render aid. In his testimony, Arradondo described the department's training programs and the core value of treating everyone with "dignity and respect." He said that officers are required to be familiar with policies, including de-escalation and use of force.

Last year, Arradondo fired Chauvin and three other officers involved in Floyd's death, which he said was "murder."
Dr. Bradford Wankhede Langenfeld, an emergency medicine physician at Hennepin County Medical Center, said he treated Floyd for about 30 minutes on May 25, 2020, as hospital staff unsuccessfully tried to restart his heart. Based on what paramedics reported and on Floyd's medical condition, Langenfeld said the "more likely possibility" of Floyd's cardiac arrest was hypoxia, or lack of oxygen. On cross-examination, Langenfeld said that hypoxia can be caused by many things, including drugs such as fentanyl, methamphetamine or a combination of both.
The doctor's testimony goes to the prosecution's argument that Chauvin's kneeling was a substantial cause of Floyd's death. Chauvin's attorney, however, has argued that Floyd died due to his drug use and other health issues.

Minneapolis Police Inspector Katie Blackwell, who recently served as commander of the department's training division, said officers are trained in their medical unit about the dangers of positional asphyxia and the need to get someone on their side or sit up to recover. Officers are also taught to provide medical help to suspects.
Looking at a photo of Chauvin on Floyd’s neck, Blackwell testified that it was not in line with department training. They train using a one-arm or two-arm neck restraint. “I don’t know what kind of improvised position that is,” she said. “It’s not what we train.”

So.....murder confirmed?

That's for the jury to decide. But I'd say that's pretty good evidence when the police chief says he did not follow proper procedure and training.

Is not following proper procedure/training an excessive force or murder charge when there are non-health related contributing or maybe even causal factors (lots of drugs) to the death, though?

no idea. probably. the guy was alive until they put a knee on his neck lol.

He'd also swallowed the rest of his fentanyl supply when the police showed up, no?

Not sure what you mean. Ingesting a lethal dose of fentanyl also stops breathing. And last I heard was that there's no damage to Floyd's neck or windpipe.

The video looks terrible. Chauvin should never be able to find work as a cop again. But that doesn't mean he committed murder. He probably was overcharged given the drug circumstances.

The police chief is more politician than cop. He doesn't want to see his city burn (again). You also need to keep in mind the defense hasn't had their turn yet so of course the prosecution is going to try to make him look guilty. The choke hold was still allowed and all they can question is his judgement.
