TDU is a republican communist organization that was started by a guy that was a teamster for one year in 1974. He has made a rather large living off dividing the teamsters union. This is reprehensible and a very GOP tactic.

On the other hand, some might say:

The IBT is a republican organization that is run by a guy who was not allowed to run for office in 1991 because he wasn't a member. He has made a rather large living off dividing the teamsters union. This is reprehensible and a very GOP tactic.

James P. Hoffa grew up on picket lines and in union meetings. He is the only son of James R. Hoffa, former General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. On his 18th birthday, Hoffa received his own union card and was sworn in by his father. Prior to becoming Administrative Assistant to Michigan Joint Council 43, Hoffa was a labor lawyer in Detroit for 25 years.

TEAMSTER CAREER

1960s: Teamster laborer in Detroit and Alaska, loading and unloading freight from ships, driving trucks and buses, and operating heavy equipment.
E
1968-93: Teamster attorney representing members in workers compensation cases, Social Security, and personal legal matters; represented Teamster joint councils and local unions.

All accurate info. Also he has consistently PAID HIS DUES since the 60's. He worked unloading ships on the Great Lakes, and he worked driving trucks, heavy equipment and buses in Alaska during the construction of the BEMIS (Ballistic Missle Early Warning System) military base there you go sparky.

We've been through this before. He was declared ineligible to run at the 1991 IBT Convention in Orlando because he had not meet the 24 months dues requirement. His TEAMSTER CAREER info was taken from the IBT website. You added the last paragraph, specifically "Also he has consistently PAID HIS DUES since the 60's". He did not!

Does anybody get the feeling Ups is laughing at the divisions it the IBT? Really the upcoming convention is a Ups recon operation. They will study our divisions and use it against us in 2018 negotiations. I would suggest suspend the convention, take that money and spend on training to our negotiators to compete with Ups Lawyers. Get your ballot in the mail and vote for who want. The IBT, and organized labor in general, is under attack, by Anti-labor political hacks.

Yeah, let's violate our international constitution just because a few local area labor managers might be snickering at some nasty delegate election handbills.

Rank and file democracy strengthens us in the end.

I've heard this argument before.

It doesn't hold water.

Lincoln held an election during the Civil war.

This is union politics.

We will unite to stand up against the large companies after the convention and election.

With all due respect to all opinions, this is exactly what I meant in original post. This great union has to unite, so called old guard, so called reformers, blah, blah blah. We are under attack people. PREVAILING wage, RTW, bad trade deals. Whether you have a D or a R next to your name, the chord sjould be cut unless you represent the 1.4 million members of the Teamsters

The infighting in this union puts a great big smile on the faces of Ups,anti-labor lawmakers. Take a deep breath before you bash your brother or sister, and for God's sakes don't let management enjoy it

It isn't possible to suspend the convention under our constitution and federal law.
If we wanted to get ups out of our business, then the folks (negotiators) currently leading need to stop the cozy relationship they have.

UPS is laughing with JH in charge of the Teamsters.

The last thing UPS wants is FZ in charge of the whole Teamsters come UPS contract negotiations.

UPS and JH screwed over FZ and his whole local in the last contract negotiations.

Payback is a bitch.
