its a straw man regardless of which side would chase it. The left in this case is trying to make the misrepresented argument that this is a gift to trump and that trump would somehow benifit and somehow be beholden to Qatar. even though the gift would never go to Trump and would only be used for official business until retired .

if that argument is a legitimate one then the real concern should be the 1. 2 trillion Qatar has committed to the US in new investments. that is also basically a gift to our country .
