THE TRUMP 2024 THREAD

Over70irregs

Bans = Control…. Moving on
  • Medicaid: $700–$880B cut via work requirements, eligibility checks, and ending benefits for undocumented immigrants (7.6–10M lose coverage).
  • SNAP: $300B cut with work requirements (~11M lose benefits).
work requirements for those who are able bodied and able to work. thats not a cut to healthcare thats getting those who can work and illegals off the gravy train.

again despite your best efforts to misrepresent this as cuts to healthcare there are no such cuts.
We do need more able people working. Not sure if childcare is addressed

Josh Hawley called the medicaid cuts political suicide.
we have 36 trillion in debt because politicians were more concerned about getting reelected then about fixing problems.

i think you'll find Hawley is not against putting able bodied to work and removing illegals from the rolls.

Josh Hawley understands that the people who voted him into office are reliant on Medicai
Josh Hawley On illegal immigrants taking healthcare benefits (Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing, December 10, 2024):
  • “Why would you want American citizens and those who are here lawfully to have to compete against illegal immigrants who, by the way, are not always paid minimum wage, who are not given the federally mandated benefits precisely because they are here illegally.”
  • “So just if you’re wondering America, here’s the Democrats’ plan. Take the 13 million-plus illegals who are here taking jobs from Americans, taking wages down, taking healthcare benefits, and bring them here legally so they can continue to drive down wages, flood the labor force, and suppress all of the above.”

Sure, but the Medicaid cuts Republicans were talking about when he said that nearly 2 weeks ago probably aren't the same as what was actually passed.
We will get a better idea on where they stand on these issues the next month. I don't think Hawley is the guy dems want to use to support their cause. I could be wrong.

Once again. This bill skyrockets the national debt.

Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid.
i wish someone had told california

The California Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal, has significantly expanded coverage to undocumented immigrants in recent years, leading to substantial costs. According to the California Department of Finance, the state is spending approximately $8.4 billion this fiscal year on Medi-Cal benefits for undocumented immigrants, with $9.5 billion in total funds
