I'm not even a politician, but I believe you have @MyTripisCut derangement syndrome. You’re not the first one, it’s survivable, and one day you’ll be ok.

Seems you are the one that has to make a comment about my post. I put up a list of 10 things no one would have supported before Trump came into office and something must of stung you to the point you had to chime in. They say the dog in the pack that yipes is the one that got hit by the rock.

when you hear the Trump administration is cutting vital money to schools they use for medical research here is some facts from a recent article on the issue. Source is amuse on X. I have abbreviated it to make it easier to read:

  • Court Ruling: Federal court blocks NIH policy to cap Facilities and Administrative (friend&A) rates at 15%, ruling it "arbitrary and capricious."
  • Harvard's Cut: Harvard University skims 69.5% of NIH grant dollars for friend&A costs, diverting nearly $70 million per $100 million to overhead.
  • Widespread Practice: MIT, Michigan, Stanford, and others take 54-56% of NIH grants for administrative costs, unaudited and untied to specific research.
  • Wasteful Spending: NIH funds absurd projects like $419,470 for cocaine in rats, $2.24 million to infect cats with COVID-19, and $10,000 for a climate-themed drag show.
  • Systemic Issue: 28% of NIH’s $50 billion annual budget—$14 billion—goes to institutional overhead, funded by borrowing and printing money.
  • Global Contrast: UK, Canada, and Germany limit or eliminate friend&A reimbursements, while the US allows inflated, untransparent rates.
  • Foreign Funding: NIH funds research in over 50 countries, including gain-of-function studies in Wuhan, using borrowed US funds.
  • Reform Blocked: Trump administration’s 15% friend&A cap was sued by 22 states and research lobbies, halting fiscal reform.
  • Proposed Action: Pause new NIH funding, enforce voluntary 15% friend&A cap, and suspend overseas research until fiscal accountability is restored.
  • Core Critique: NIH grants enrich elite universities’ bureaucracies and ideological programs, not science, burdening future generations with debt
