did you mean the ability to quote chomsky on the BC or is there some other power you're exercising?
Chomsky is an intelligent man, but he is much like the TDU reform party in our own union. They’re quite good at pointing out the problem and explaining it. But their solutions are inadequate and when they’re put in charge, They fall flat because they’re much better at pointing the finger than being in charge and fixing things.

I would look up gal alperovtiz or michael albert. In michael moores documentary, he made it sound like they make more, if he is to be trusted. Mondragon is sortve a coop and the executives only make 12x the lowest paid worker vs the 350x or watever the number is for ceos here.

Honestly, it looks like what you posted is a complete failure.
i dont think so. at the end it says worker satisfaction is slightly higher than capitalism. richard wolff was mentioning before that instead of workers being fired in recessions, they all work less hours. i think thats a better solution and could explain the lower wages this wikipedia article mentions.

the idea that power corrupts is just common sense to me.
It does, but changing the dynamic, doesn’t it make the worker less corrupt when he has more power. This is human nature. The best you can hope for is to have two opposing sides, keeping each other in check neither one having too much power. System isn’t perfect but if you’re not there both sides to profit the. it’s a waste of time.

i think you could describe chomsky and me and people who believe in democracy instead of centralized power. maybe we believe in it more than most people i dont know.

exactly. i always felt like after doing union jobs in the private sector and public sector there wasnt enough of check on power and too much power in too few hands.

Workers satisfaction? It’s a myth, and at best only temporary with any career It’s a job. My satisfaction is only reliant on how much I make in pay and benefits. And getting to retirement as quickly as possible. Work is not a social club to me. What you suggesting seems to extend the time I’m forced to work. The only satisfaction I receive is when I am able to leave and do what I want, when I want.

I think you hate the idea of anybody being in charge. I understand it, but somebody has to be. Without it you have chaos and failure. Again the best you can help for is to be able to remove those in power when they abuse it.

im in favor of voting for representatives when direct democracy isnt better.

sometimes i noticed too there a disconnect between the workers who actually do the job and the design of equipment by engineers i suppose. for example, on the railway sometimes the airbrakes instead of being in an accessible location right in the middle of the equipment would be on one side, so you would have to climb over the engine to use it.

ive done different jobs and liked some more than others. i like my bus job better than my nurse year 1 job, but i dont think the employer is better because theres no pension. the public transit job im interviewing for has a pension. another one i will apply for today is private so i dont know if it has one or if the pension is as good. i like ecg job better than year one nurse job, but i wasnt sure i could get hired in europe doing ecgs. both of these public sector jobs gave me way more time off than any private sector job i did. also some jobs had toxic work sites like doing car rentals, i think the big railways were like this but i didnt stick around long enough to really find out. i worked at walmart, some of the managers were :censored2:ed up, but i wouldnt say it was toxic. they handed out anti union material.

At some point in your life, you’re going to have to realize you’re never going to be satisfied at a job. You’re just gonna have to get up every morning and put your boots on and go do it so you can get to the end. Not doing so just extended the amount of time you’re forced to do it.
