THE TRUMP 2024 THREAD

Due to an increase in production from OPEC, btw, the U.S. had already been drilling at record. levels when Trump took office and, despite his . executive order, U.S. oil production estimates have fallen slightly since December 2024.
Well, what dumb luck!! do you think anyone cares?

How unfortunate that Joe Biden couldn’t get gas prices down while he was president, as a consequence he and the Democrat party have lost because of these issues.

Doesn't really matter, does it? OPEC production decisions don't happen in isolation from US policy.
Nope, and Joe Biden’s policies at the beginning of his presidency had a huge impact on the price of gas throughout his presidency so he shares much of the blame for the high the high prices. Even if he realized later, it was a mistake. It was too late to help his presidency.

“But even if Biden were blameless for inflation, he’s not off the hook, because his energy policies were all aimed at restricting oil production, which leads to higher gasoline prices. Within hours of taking office, he imposed a moratorium on drilling permits on federal land. Not long after, he implemented a moratorium on oil and gas leases (later ruled illegal). And offshore energy leases remain impossible to get, despite a mandate from Congress. Additionally, scarce refining capacity is now a chronic condition in the United States, as refiners see no value in investment amidst the administration’s attempts to force a transition to electric vehicles.

As always, gasoline prices are influenced mostly by economics, and partially by presidents. Biden may bemoan high gasoline prices as out of his hands, but he hasn’t done anything to help either”

Terrible I’m not a fan of most of it. What’s your point?

I’m not blinded by partisanship. When a president does something good or there is a there is a good outcome I’ll give them credit. When they don’t, I’ll point it out.
Since you're not blinded by partisanship can you offer some examples of your being critical of trump?
