Two-faced management.

If you read the mgmt manual it states:

It's ok to falsify these records, just don't falsify those records.

Walmart probably isn't tracking their packages, so no one will ever know.

Why is it ok for management to LIE "AN ACT OF DISHONESTY" to our customers by telling us to falsify records and sheet up a box as a closed 1. He never attempted the box so it should be sheeted as a miss! Tell your friend Brad ASAP to help in his case! UPS manager just trying to avoid claim same as the driver. BOTH WRONG.

Manager should be fired too! Never ever sheet up a box as attempted and closed or futured if you are not really going to attempt it.

Actually more than likely Walmart has a GSR contract, meaning it doesn't matter if their packages arrive on time or not because they get a certain discount every quarter based on volume for a set percentage of "late" packages.

Most large shipper's have a GSR contract actually and package to package it doesn't matter if we meet service or not.

In my nearly 20 years at UPS it has always been common knowledge that management fudges numbers to make themselves look good. Every once in a while a big fish catches a little fish, puffs up their chest to make themselves look good and says "you're fired". There are not too many sups/managers with true ethics any more. It's ok for them to lie, cheat, and steal. The good guys/gals don't get too high on the food chain any more. Step on or be stepped on.
