Union presidential debate

DELACROIX

In the Spirit of Honore' Daumier
And there it is. I was waiting for that issue to be addressed and it was never even brought up in the debate. Both sides should have to answer for that.

The oblivious answer would be that they could not get a better deal from the company. The chatter on B/C at that time from some characters who claimed to be in the room was they feared that if a strike was called that the members would cross.

After the 2013 contract and the 2016 election The Hoffa administration knew that the rank and file lost confidence in them...this 2018 forced ratification was planned long before they shook hands, Hoffa was retiring with dignity so the International decided to play that 50 % card also knowing it was a one shot deal, proven by it’s elimination at the convention.

The faithful 20 percent always vote for everything, elections, strike vote and contract..
Hoffa only won in 2016 with 8.5% members actually voting for him, that means that 91.5 percent of his membership either voted for Zuckerman or have come to the conclusion that it does not matter who is in office... It is beyond apathy the lack of participation in the process, something needs to be fixed and everybody knows it.

Agree that would be another good question for both candidates..👍

The reclaiming of union participation starts with the stewards and the local representation. I find it really interesting that Hancock's (Teamster Power Slate Candidate) multiple Hoffa appointments and his relationship with Coli haven't been brought up on here. Maybe people have either given up or they are too lazy to stand up?

Look at Terry Hancock's profile on the Power Slate's Profile.

Does it honestly matter? Both are going to cave to management
Does it matter if you look both ways before crossing a busy street?
Does it matter if you lock your doors at night in the city?
Why bother?
What could happen?

The only folks that shouldn't care are the ones who don't have the spine to get involved to try to make changes starting with the stewards who are dishonest all the way up to the top leadership positions who have recently sold members out. People like you discourage even more members from voting. If you don't care why are you on this forum stirring up more division unless you're management?
