Why would a driver have a handgun in his backpack?

This happened on a Monday morning, he claimed he had gone to the range over the weekend and forgot to take it out. Most people who go to ranges carry in a different type of bag........He was a good driver that put out good numbers. Division Manager actually tried to save his job, but got over-ruled since this was a few months after the Montgomery Hub murders.

Ouch. RIP driver job =(

However, forgetting about a firearm is poor gun handling and irresponsible.

Theoretical example: I keep mine on my ankle and strap the ammo to my other. When I get to some street lights near work, I'll swap the full clip for an empty one, check the chamber and lock her up. No exceptions. If it was to fall out, nobody could do anything with it. If some disgruntled person started mowing down coworkers it'd be a simple clip swap and neutralize threat.

But hindsight is 20/20 and pobody's nerfect. Poor guy tho that really does suck.
