UPS® (NYSE: UPS), a global logistics provider and leading advocate for global trade, applauds the United States, Canada and Mexico governments for reaching consensus on removing steel and aluminum tariffs.

“Now that the tariffs have been lifted, the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which will modernize North American free trade and bring it into the 21st-century via updated rules, can move forward with new momentum,” said Laura Lane, President of UPS Global Public Affairs. “The pact will be great for America and our allies by improving customs regulations, spurring the growth of e-commerce and supporting the participation of more small businesses in regional and global supply chains.”

UPS urges the three countries to work diligently and quickly through their respective ratification processes.

UPS has been a vocal supporter of trade. Logistics, freight and supply chain services, as provided by UPS, are key enablers of e-commerce growth. At any given time, our package cars, trailers, ocean containers, and planes are carrying approximately 6% of U.S. GDP and 3% of global GDP in more than 220 countries and territories around the world.
