UPS employees had already extinguished the fire when Secaucus volunteer firefighters arrived, Gonnelli said. Company spokesman Dan Cardillo says UPS has designated first-responders who are trained in safety procedures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe the contents of the package may have been a major contributing factor, Gonnelli says.
