UPS sponsors the PRO's! LOL

Did you just see that Fedex commercial about arctic tuesday, at the end of it the guy was sitting on the bathroom floor hitting the hand dryer trying to get warm.

I'm here at home watching one of the BCS games. It's sponsored by FedEx. Why doesn't UPS sponsor as much?

It was only a few years back that UPS did not sponsored anything. Before it was only a clean brown truck with United Parcel Service on it and clean cut driver nothing else. My how things have change.

i remember those days. boy, those really were the good ole days. little to no commericals. if there were a commerical, it was for 1da. the package cars were washed everyday, and i could go on.

but, to answer the question, yes, UPS sponsors the Pro's, including the Superbowl.

My favorite commercial was the "tightest ship in the shipping business" They say it turned people off, but I loved it.

Don't forget about the $20+ Million to Roush Racing to sponsor the #6 of David Ragan next year and beyond as well as the millions they pay to NASCAR to be the official delivery company. Also, UPS sponsors a Top Fuel Dragster in the NHRA (Vandergriff) as well as the sponsorships of the Olympics.

Of course, while those sponsorships get the companies name out there, the best way to get their name out there in a positive light is the wonderful, hardworking drivers they have. :) (myself included!) :surprised:

UPS dropped the sponsorship in NHRA at the end of the 2008 season.

My favorite UPS commercial was the one with the theme to "Cheers". Some clueless UPS wives & girlfriends felt threatened by it. Can anyone find it & post it here?

My favorite commercial was the Christmas one from a few years ago where one of the elves "borrowed" and then crashed Santa's sleigh. Santa needed help and called on UPS.

I, too, like the tagline "The tightest ship in the shipping business". My least favorite tagline: The shipping companies more small companies depend on."

Ugh - that has to be the worst ever.

UPS should sponsor J-Lo or Beyonce and slap our logo on their butt. No explanation needed, just a shot of them walking to the camera and at the last moment turning around with their butt filling the screen.

Why stop with UPS----with butts like that you could spell out the whole United Parcel Service:peaceful:

Personally, I think UPS should stop all sponsorship on a national/international basis. I believe this to be a waste of money that could be spent on infrastructure within the company. If they make UPS better they will regain much of the lost respect and business that we have lost in the past few years.
Sponsorships are basically for two purposes, 1) advertisement 2) to pour corporate money (under the guise of advertisement) into an area of interest of the big wigs in the company.
Our big brown monsters are out on the streets everyday in quantities more numerous than all our non-government competitors combined, no one is going to forget we exist. I really doubt that the company gains 1 % of it's revenue in response to sponsorships of any kind. FedEx sponsors in nearly every field UPS does, DHL did too.
In the pure advertisement area, I would think placing ads on various popular shopping websites would be more beneficial dollar for dollar than NASCAR or the Twiddle-Winks National Championship. Giving large discounts to shippers such as Amazon or E-bay wouldn't hurt either.

That's my $0.0002 worth.
no, $0.0002 is not a typo
