UPS Stores are privately owned franchises. Their employees are not UPS employees.

Then the second part of your question is a stupid part.

Thats like saying, if you work at Mcdonalds, are you more likely to get hired to be the head of the CIA? The two company's for which you A.) currently work and B.) are applying for have basically nothing to do with each other. They share "UPS" and that's it.

i would think if you have good references, you could get a job at any UPS store. it's not too tough

some UPS store owners hate UPS, so there's that

I've worked at UPS on the preload for 8 years and a UPS Store for 5 years. I'm not going to say what I get paid but it's pretty close in the hourly rate to what I make at UPS. I think my situation is unique though as it is only me and the owners son that works at the Store and he takes really good care of me. Most people at the UPS Stores I know don't make as much as I do.
