What actually happens to damaged shipments? Is something illegitimate going on?

A little tape and it's good to go. Management doesn't want the damage key being used, they only want refused, so you dump it.

The real question is, why is the preload moving damaged goods along?
Correction.. They don’t want the missed button being used.

It’s funny that they never want us to use the methods that they train us on when it looks bad for them.

Both missed and damaged are to never be used as directed. Always wondered why the damaged key is even in there since that's a long standing never use option. They say falsifying records is a primary way of getting fired but it's what we're explicitly told to do.

I lose track of the amount of time I spend retaping boxes all day that are loaded busted up and opened. I guess pre-load can't be bothered only for the driver making 2-3 times as much to tape on the side of the road in traffic.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Since you can't sheet them as damaged if they load a busted open box on your truck (which they aren't supposed to do) you shouldn't attempt delivery and sheet it as missed. That would piss them off only because it would show up on a report.

If I saw it in the am, I threw it off. If not I sheeted it as damaged and gave it to the clerk at night.

Are you allowed to sheet as damaged now? For a while we were supposed to sheet as missed and give to the clerk in the PM. If you sheet it as damaged it messes up the billing or something.

"The method, according to the diad training, is to sheet missed with "pos dam" in the remarks."
When managment tries to get me to sheet it any other way, i say this to them through the board. They disappear.

I do not have the proper training (or authority) to determine if an item is damaged, according to UPS shipping Guildlines. Thats for the clerk.
