I was wondering what the position/job is called that people drive and drop off the pilots to their plane in the white utility van. Also is this all they do? If someone could give me some more insight on what its called and, what all they do it would be much appreciated, thanks!

They also service the pilots in the lounge before the flights.

Pilot shuttle driver. And no , during non flight times they have other duties to do. Every airport operation has different methods on how this works. Since all air operational workers must pass the required exams to receive their government authorized permits , only those that have the right classification are allowed to perform these duties.

Okay thanks for the info, and yes I was referring to the specific position where they take the pilots from the flight planning office to the specific plane their assigned to fly. Not the one that takes them from the guardshack inside the airport.

In Boston , they are dropped off & picked up by a van service at the front door of the building , once they come in , they are walked out to the plane with a badged escort

I used to have 2 legs to the airport UPS used for their air operations. It was built in 1917, and it looked like it. US trained pilots for WW1 there. I'm guessing UPS rent there was dirt cheap. Everything was huge Quonset huts. The flight crew walked to the building (maybe 100 yards) and caught a shuttle van to their hotel. The pilots had a lounge upstairs that they used for delays and such. By ups standards, it was luxurious. 3 or 4 leather recliners, a huge big screen tv, fridge, and I'm not sure, but possibly beds in the backroom.
