Who should arrange vacation list ?

There's a alternate steward with a vacation list going around
Funny thing is when I questioned him he replied he's doing management a
favor . Drivers are getting fired everyday and routes are getting broken up and were
doing favors ?

This is not true. I work in a small center (24-28 routes) and vacations are bid using that's years UPS calendar by seniority. The senior driver gets the calendar first, bids his 6 weeks, and the calendar is updated by the on-car and given to the next driver. The weeks that are not open are crossed out and once a week becomes full it is also crossed out.

If a driver wants a first quarter vacation they are asked to notify mgt around the 15th of December. These requests are not normally affected by seniority unless it is one of the premium weeks (school vacations).

It takes about two weeks for the calendar to be completed.
