I feel stupid for asking this but what, exactly, does 9.5 mean?

Does it mean I have to be on the clock for 9.5 hours (from 9 am to 6:30 pm for instance) or for 10.5 hours (this would include my hour lunch period)?

I did but it doesn't really address my question as to whether 9.5 refers to hours worked (meaning you would have to be on the clock for 10.5 hours) or hours on the clock.

9.5 is 9 and a half of actual hours worked. If you had a 1 hour lunch, you would be out there for 10.5 hours.
