Anyone watch 60 minutes tonight? My father in law just called and said he saw a demonstration of what Amazon will be doing in 3-5 years on the show. Supposedly showed a drone helicopter delivering a package completely uncontrolled by anyone.

I didn't see it, but here was a teaser about the show confirming it:

Would love to see a tiny helicopter deliver inside an office building, apartment building or a 70 pounder...

Technology needs to get a lot better, what if raining, snowing, wind blowing those things off course, and we all know how accurate GPS is. It showed delivering a package in the middle of the driveway. I see a lot run over packages, especially in winter.

Only packages delivered by them under 5lbs

I also watched it. 30 minutes from order placement to delivery within a 10 mile radius of a DC. 3-5 years away.

Sounds like they are getting ideas from Fred Smith. Old Fred is full of these stupid ideas, like zapmail.

I could see Amazon stock fall on this talk...or maybe that's what some insiders want.
