rickyb, did you hear the The US Army is willing to give up to $90,000 usd for troops to sign up for another 4 years.
Seems Trump has set a goal of increasing the ranks , after years of Obama cutting them and badly needs to keep the troops it has.

you could say that for a majority of western countries, and yes they are better than USA.

btw it would be interesting to see the numbers comparing how much money america spends on all free stuff including military and jails. i wouldnt be suprised if it was higher than EU countries considering you already spend 1.5 trillion every year on military empire and you are the wealthiest country on earth although you wouldnt know it by looking at a median incomes persons house.
Jails and a strong military, love them both!

There is always a catch.
Army offering bonuses up to $90,000 for re-enlistment to meet retention goals

Cyber posts, cryptologists or other intelligence or high tech jobs with certain language skills are particularly rewarded. They can get between $50,000 and $90,000 by agreeing to serve another three to five years. Army special forces can also qualify for top level incentives. But more routine jobs – such as some lower level infantry posts – may get nothing, or just a couple of thousand dollars.

UK gets the chance today to do what america failed to do
Now that's funny as hell ... the UK debt is worse than ours with a bleaker outlook too!
The USA use to look great but not anymore.
A countries debt as a % of GDP should be in the 33% range (where the US was before GW Bush) but the UK's is 42.3%. Even worse, the UK annual debt as a percent of GDP is 8.2%
They going to pay for it with Monopoly money?

Sanders is an honest and committed New Dealer. His policies would not have surprised Eisenhower very much. The fact that he's considered "radical" tells us how far the elite political spectrum has shifted to the right during the neoliberal period.

Chomsky: Is the American Dream Dead?
Do you realize the New Deal put the USA into $43 Trillion debt (adjusted to 2015 dollars).
After WWII, the highest income tax bracket was 90% and generally higher for everybody.

yea america almost had a revolution which is why FDR passed the new deal. FDR wanted a 100% top income tax bracket which would have been roughly $360,000 adjusted for inflation
