THe oil market is all fabrication. They know what they can get away with. They tell us what they want to tell us , right before they rip us off.

There is no "free market" with OIL. Its all a money maker brought to you by none other than Ronald Reagan.

How's that working out for us??

So declining economies have nothing to do with a reduction in demand .

NO. GLUTS are not the product of slowing economies. Changes in consumer consumption is causing the gluts in todays oil world.

Even with cutting production back to levels unheard of, oil continues to stockpile.

Think about it, from BUSH telling us that oil was being produced at 99.9% of capacity and supply didnt meet demand to today where oil is being produced at near 65% capacity and there is a glut.

Its all a scam.

We are the suckers.

Selective memory as usual. Funny how the price of gas dropped by 2 dollars right at the end of baby Bush's reign isn't it?

Instead of looking at the one day Obama took office, how about the average price during their presidencies adjusted for inflation? That's probably over your head though.
The president has nothing to do with gas prices. Deal with it.

Back to the thread....gas prices locally are down 30-40 cents in just the past 2 months with the average around $3.45/gal for unleaded. I will be in the Albany (NY) area tomorrow for my daughter's baby shower and will be curious as to how much lower the prices there will be.

What we are seeing today with the retail prices dropping is the effect of the oil per barrel six month decline .
It is just reaching the retail sector now .

Goldman sachs says oil to drop to 75 dollar levels shortly. Prices to continue to fall. Look for the oil companies to shut down fracking operations and shale operations shortly.

Inventories are too high and they could care less about the price at the pump as they work together to drive them back up to 4 bucks a gallon by any means necessary.

Even if it means sucking us into another war.

A Fracking War ?

No, a middle east war, right where the OIL companies would like to see the USA for decades.

Oh wait, I thought you said the oil companies were your friends? Apparently not. Where's all the talk about the Xl pipeline now that oil is crashing??

Oh yeah, nobody gives a crap about that anymore, cause it wont have any effect on oil prices.
