Attorneys Intend to Ask for 'the Clinton Deal'
Attorneys for people who allegedly mishandled classified information say the outcome of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton could be good news for their clients.
Mark Zaid, a defense attorney for national security whistleblowers and people accused of mishandling secrets, says he plans to ask for “the Clinton deal” in the future.
And Zaid says he probably can get it.
In 2015, shortly after former CIA Director David Petraeus received a plea deal featuring probation and a fine for sharing highly classified information with his mistress Paula Broadwell, Zaid says he called the Justice Department on behalf of a client accused of taking classified records home.
“We absolutely got on the phone to the prosecutor and said, ‘We want the Petraeus sentence. We want the commensurate, parallel sentence.’ And we got it!” he says, winning a $5,000 fine and a short probation term instead of possible prison for a now-retired intelligence agency employee.
“In some ways, [the Clinton and Petraeus cases] now create a glass ceiling and a glass floor,” Zaid says. “By Comey’s wording [about Clinton], now we have a floor as to what constitutes intent that deserves prosecution.”

@tonyexpress, didn't Director Comey say that three emails had classified information in them, and they were marked with by a (c) in the paragraph, not a 'Classified Header', as a 'Classified Document' would have, and that these emails did not originate with her, but that she was included in conversations as they went up the chain of command?I agree.... To state that she sent classified material from her private email is a bit misleading. She forwarded three emails to others that had a (c) in the body. From what I have heard this 'classified material' was info about drone strikes, that was actually published before her transgressions.
It was a waste of time and money, as will be next next politically motivated Congressional investigation.
The one thing I did learn from watching it, is that those congress-critters are seriously out of touch with reality, some more than others, but they are all affected.
Apples & Oranges... However in hindsight this is probably true. You had to blame Bush though because it makes you feel better even though he has nothing to do with Hillary's problems...
Hillary is trying to become president now and Bush was president then.
It has been proven Hillary was very "Careless" when she was secretary of state with the email situation. It has also been proven that Hillary lied about it. She cannot be trusted no matter how much anyone hates Bush.
