My building is on a big hiring binge for delivery drivers to replace the 6th punch drivers. If they aren't needed they just lay them off for the week and use them on Saturdays. They don't know what they are in for.

I thought a fair portion of drivers had Tue-Sat already.

I saw that from orbit.
Union wanted the MOA to be as expansive as possible in order to stall layoff language that would leave people unpaid for a week.

Pushing the layoff week into 2024 is a victory of sorts for keeping people paid.

Most are happy to have a set schedule because the vast majority were already working Tuesday through Saturday anyway.
