I get OT pay every week. Anything over 40. Not all contractors are bad

Pretty sure this rule has nothing to do with the Motor Carrier Exemption...

Try reading the article you posted. This rule is to adjust the salary floor for workers that fall under the managerial exemption for overtime. Our drivers fall under the motor carrier exemption. You can google it if you're interested.
See, the drivers at ups have a union that negotiates things like overtime pay. This rule will have no direct impact on our operations.

Because the Motor Carrier Exemption doesn't apply or doesn't exist?

Honestly though, I wish this new law would apply.

Why? There's nothing stopping you from paying overtime now.

Even if it did, the workaround for it would be the same as it will be for the others... Lower the salary enough so that once you figure in the OT, the pay still ends up being the same.
