Drama queen of the day

LSU student and Reveille* columnist Clarke Perkins freaked out on Twitter yesterday as she mistook a lightning ground wire hanging over a branch for a noose.
She tweeted yesterday morning:

THERE IS A NOOSE HANGING FROM A TREE AT LSU BY COATES. I shouldn't have to see this walking to class. WOW.

That's it. The "noose" is the end of a grounding wire that was uprooted when a heavy branch fell down on the wire.
However, she at first refused to take it down even when the NAACP told her it was not a noose. She said she would wait until she got confirmation it was not a noose.
Clarke tweeted piteously about racism, yet the only racism that can be found in this story is her own tweet from last year:

Another race hoax .

There’s a long history of fake hate crimes both on and off campus. Such hoaxes are useful in creating media hysteria which justify the creation of phony jobs and academic sinecures which benefit the hoaxers.

We MAY be looking at another one at the University of Kansas. Similar to the fiasco at the University of Missouri, there have been demands for the current student government to resign and various set asides to be awarded to student protesters.

What started all this? A serious hate crime.

Lawrence police are investigating an altercation involving racial slurs that reportedly occurred at a house party on Halloween night.

About 1:40 a.m. Nov. 1, officers responded to a report of an “out of control” house party in the 1300 block of Kentucky Street, according to Sgt. Trent McKinley, Lawrence Police Department spokesman.

Friday afternoon the investigation — listed as a battery and aggravated assault case — remained ongoing and no arrests had been made, McKinley said.

Word of the incident spread when Kynnedi Grant, president of Kansas University’s Black Student Union, shared her account of events on social media earlier this week and again in person before a crowd of 1,000 at KU’s town hall forum on race Wednesday.

On her Facebook page and at the forum, Grant said she and some black friends went to the party and, while searching for a friend’s lost wallet, were confronted by a group of white men and the situation escalated. They were called names and racial slurs, she said, and she was spit on and put in a “chokehold.” She said one white man pulled a gun on two of her friends. She said they spoke to police officers outside.

“No report was made, no comfort given to us,” she wrote Tuesday in a Facebook post that has been shared by more than 500 other people. “We are black. Our attackers and police are white.”

The incident is recorded on the Nov. 1 police call log, and five police units responded to the scene, according to the log.

Very serious, if true. But did it happen? A source has sent us the following screenshot.

Another race hoax.

Shalaria Jones was arrested Wednesday night and charged with making terroristic threats on Twitter using a fake account.
Pretending to be a “white” student at Bowie, Jones posted three threatening tweets -- one including a picture of a handgun with a threat of a school shooting.
The tweets caused a “chaotic scene” when as many as 300 students left school out of fear for their safety, according to an arrest warrant.

im at @jamesbowiehighschool sittin in class thinkin who should I kill first by the way im white nd a junior

An Arlington investigator contacted Twitter to request an emergency disclosure for the account’s information. The IP address used to setup the account was traced to a cell phone number belonging to Jones.
A search warrant would later allow detectives to conduct a more thorough investigation of the phone’s activity. Detectives learned the picture searches and twitter posts had happened during a period of time in which Jones claimed the phone was in her possession.

An image found in the phone’s cache was also the same gun image used in the threatening posts .

Student who posted ‘I’m going to shoot every black person I can on campus’ … is black
College Fix Staff November 19, 2015
Add another tally mark under the hate-crime hoax scorecard.

A student at the Michigan-based Delta College was arrested recently after posting on Yik Yak “I’m going to shoot every black person I can on campus. Starting tomorrow morning,” MLive reports.

“The message triggered an investigation and police security response that led to the arrest of a Delta College student living in SVSU housing,” the news outlet added. “Emmanuel D. Bowden, 21, is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism.”

According to the police report, after the threat went viral, Bowden posted he was only kidding.

Racism Immediately Alleged After Black Bag of Poop Found on Steps of Vanderbilt’s Black Cultural Center — Then the Truth Comes Out

The black bag had been sitting on the steps of the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center at Vanderbilt University all day Tuesday.

Then a graduate student working at the building got curious that evening and opened it up — and discovered it contained feces.

First campus police were called, according to the Vanderbilt Hustler, the student newspaper .
Then the grad student phoned Frank E. Dobson, Jr., director of the Black Cultural Center and an assistant dean at the school, who rushed to the scene.
Dobson then emailed Dean of Students Mark Bandas, who also high-tailed it to the Black Cultural Center, the paper said, accompanied by Tina Smith, director of the Office of Inclusion Initiatives and Cultural Competence.
The general consensus was that the black bag of feces left of the Black Cultural Center’s steps was a racially motivated act .

The police said they found the perp.

Security cameras revealed that the bag had been left on the steps the previous night by a blind student who had just picked up after her guide dog.
“The one thing that guide dog school trains every student to do is that if they don’t know where the garbage can is, you still always pick it up and put it in the bag, that way no one steps in it,” the blind student told the paper. “But then you leave it outside of a building that way someone else who sees a garbage can put it in there.”

Its about that time of the night for the "racism" thread to make its nightly appearance.
You want it? You got it.

CAMDEN - Camden County officials on Thursday released more than 5,000 text messages, many racially charged, that led to the dismissal of nine corrections officers at Camden County Jail.

The texts, shared by white officers using cellphones smuggled into the jail, contain so many racial insults that an investigative report noted the use of 10 slurs, then added “etc.”

The texts were released to the Courier-Post through a public-records request.

An attorney for one of the dismissed officers had sought to block the release, but Superior Court Judge Louis Meloni rebuffed that attempt in a ruling Monday. Attorneys for the county and the Courier-Post had argued for the texts to be made public.

Many of the texts are routine, if expletive-laden, messages – gossiping about co-workers, discussing TV shows and asking where stamps are sold. But others include crude, sexist, anti-Semitic and homophobic comments, such as an exchange mocking a young inmate who cried in his cell on Christmas Eve.

And a large number contain disturbing racial imagery – such as a sports conversation that suggested a black Philadelphia Eagle “should be tied to a bumper and dragged.” That exchange went on to suggest the player should be doused with alcohol, set afire and then be urinated on.

Among numerous examples:

"To me a really good high is stomping the :censored2: out of a :censored2: for no reason.""No matter how they look at things, no matter how dressed up they get.. When they wake up tomorrow morning they're still just :censored2:S.”And during a discussion of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, "Don't forget his wife is a colored."
