10 days in the ICU ward and they are finally talking about getting me outta here. My advice to everyone is to retire the earliest you can so you can enjoy life for a few years.
Glad you’re going home. Hope you heal up quickly and continue to get your pension checks for many years.

Exactly…don’t think Rod is up to any BJ’s at this point in time…take a rain check friend for another day!

I’m glad that you are home and making a recovery. I had a major blood clot get stuck at the top of my lungs, I had an emergency procedure done December 12. I’m lucky to be alive right now.

They are watching me for clots now. It would be just crappy to survive 11 days in the ICU unit only to get home and keel over from a clot.

I'll probably be on blood thinners from now on. My plus oxygen level is normal now and I finally got rid of the home visits and I'm back to normal doctor appointments. I was only in for four days, eleven days sounds horrible. I remember they strapped me down to the operating table and gave me just a little anesthesia because I had to stay awake. The doctor and nurses played Taylor Swift songs for two hours and I wasn't able to get up and turn that crap off. It was horrible.

Taylor Swift songs? Worse than I thought.

Hearing the surgeon say "oops" a few times didn't help either. They shoved a line up a leg artery, through my heart, and then to the top of my lungs to suction the clot out. The next day another doctor visits me in my room and tells me a Physicians Assistant did the actual procedure as training under direction from another doctor. I didn't feel them shoving that thing through my heart and clean out my lungs.

My worst memory was that damm chest tube they shoved down your throat for my operation. The only time I just wished i would die. That thing as so uncomfortable. When they yanked it out I thought I was going to.

Glad the both of you @scratch & @rod are still with us and on the mend ,, I also had a bad blood clot in my leg , thought it was sciatic nerve , hurt to walk more than 5 mins , then one day I could hardly walk 10 feet , they found was a clot in leg ,, I'll probably be on blood thinners rest of my life too , I was lucky like you two that it didn't kill me ,, God Bless you both in continuing health !
