I really don't understand the Palin bashing....she's not a politician, she's not presently a candidate for any office....she's just a woman from Alaska and a mom.....where's the threat ?

I would think that Dems. have more worries with the Speaker running a dirty house and Rangel throwing his staff under the bus and him not paying taxes and Reid thinking he's Capt. America who's going to save us all from our own ignorance.

You restrict medical care by cutting funds to meidicare,and just who gets medicare & medicane... why the elderly. Thus with the funds limited by this new law, just how can they keep up all the services without making some hard choices.

So what would you call a government board that determined treatment standards for everyone based on life span? No matter if you paid cash, had private insurance, or were on the government tit by her speaking up it changed the entire debate. If we were to be honest I think we'd all admit this appeal she has is a big part of the reason for the dislike from the left she gets.

I had a heart valve replaced. I had every imaginable test run before the surgery. If I didn't get rationed I can't imagine what you have to do to get rationed.

Would someone on medicaid get the same attention? Medicare? Be honest. Life and death are a matter of economic wherewithal. What is it with heart valves anyway? We had a 38 year old guy at out terminal get a mechanical valve a few weeks ago. He was up and moving within 12 hours. Amazing what medicine can do...if you can afford it.

The cuts will come by reducing the payment to Doctors by 22%
What Doctor will accept medicare patients ?????
Long waiting lists, very few Doctors and Hospitals accepting Medicare --this is what awaits all hard working UPSers and all Americans once they reach 65. Death Panels ???? Diesel of course not !!!!!
The ups and Teamster plan --dumps us into Medicare when we reach 65 --something to look forward to.
After working hard my whole life ----I will be in the same "waiting line" of illegals and people who would never consider working at UPS --much too hard for them !!!!

Lets be honest, "Death Panels" is simply a "covered" office visit for the elderly patient to discuss options with their doctors, and determine a plan of action for end of life span scenario's.

You have not touch on wasteful testing and duplicating medical procedures, you have not touch on hugh profit margins and the private sector ripping the public off on the cost of medical equipment, procedures and Pharms, you have not touch on maximum profits margins mandated by for profit Private hospitals, and Insurance giants intentionally balking on claim reciepients...

My Dad lived in a nursing home and was on both Medicare and Medicaid before he passed away and the level of care that he received was the same that he would have received had he had his own insurance or was self-pay. We had very few problems with either Medicare or Medicaid and those that we did were easily resolved.
