Had a go round with a training sup about this. He told me first was labeled as such for a reason. I tried the granny explanation, and he wasn't having it. But then I had to have him explain how I was supposed to use this low gear, and at the same time, not shift while in a intersection. To which his answer was to shift into second BEFORE entering the intersection, then ride second the whole time through. That works for only the smallest of four way stops. It's funny how during your first 30 days everything is black and white. After that, it's grey all over.
