Stewards asked to sign paper, by Union

This last general meeting, Stewards were asked to sign a paper that stated our duties as a steward. Since when has the oath we took in front of all members at the general meeting not good enough?

What are the differences between the oath and what you were asked to sign? Is there anything on the form that you feel should not fall under the duties of being a steward?

Always told not to sign anything from the company, unless the state requires it. Just found it odd that the union would take this stance. Was also told "failure to sign means you aren't willing to abide by what is in print" which is beyond untrue.

I can't say that I would necessarily think it's a bad thing though...

Have you looked at your bylaws. Stewards should take an oath but signing something is a little odd.
