But FDX pilots didnt, why, they are ALPA, the only FDX work group that has right under the RLA of 1929. Matter of fact they are only second to UPSCO pilots.

No one lost thier pension and what benefits have been cut?Tell us.

Stop spreading your made up lies.If you would walk a mile in your bare feet over broken glass to get UPS wages and benefits, why havent you quit Fedex and applied over at UPS?Its not like its so hard to get a job there.I am seriously doubting that you even work at Fedex.Sound like a troll to me.

Are you crazy? FedEx cut the fixed pension years ago for the PPA, and gave employees zero choice in the matter. The only ones who made out with anything solid were the old timers.

Are you sure you work for FedEx? Oh nevermind you're just a (in)dependant contractor ;p

All it would take is actually being able to say the word "no thanks". They wanted to pay us for 20 to write two letters. No thanks. I'm not into doing UPS and the Locals dirty work, even if they do want to pay me.

Stand up for yourself people....because no one else will.

FedEx has been playing-up the YRC situation for the last year, saying that "our pension plan (FedEx's) is fully funded and safe". Well, of course it is, because it's a small fraction of what UPS drivers get so it's easy to fund. It isn't even a pension any more, but that doesn't stop them from trying to promote it like it is.

And Fred can empty it at anytime he wants. There is zero protection, so if fully-funded or not, it's still a cross your fingers and hope Fred plays nice. Look how nice he's played so far. I'll say it again, Fred S has no honor at all, nada, zip.

705Red wernt you the one crying about no contract a year earlier, saying that we all had to go on strike if J.A.'s in 705 land didint get want you wanted. Now you sit here and say that you wont write any letters, does the word "HYPOCRITE" mean anything to you. Your job, your pension, and your bennefits soley rely on rather or not UPS not the UNION can compete profitably. If writting out a few letters helps secure the food on my table just a little then Im all for it. I know that it might be hard for you to except but the Union needs UPS a heck of a lot more than UPS needs the Union.

OK, I've got to slam you again. Your PPP "Pension" is not nearly the equivalent of the former Traditional Plan, which although cheap, was a legitimate retirement plan. Your PPP is basically an miniscule accrual, which is "portable" in the sense that FedEx only expects (wants) you to work for them for 4 to 5 years. Your puny PPP lump sum is all you get....there is no monthly payout when you retire...that's gone.

You say you've worked for FedEx for 17 years? That's long enough to see current and deferred profit sharing go away along with the pension plan. Add-in vastly increased insurance co-pays and fees, a crap provider (CIGNA), a useless vision plan and a host of other "benefits" like tuition refund that have been so restricted as to be useless to many and that's a large pile. Do you want more?

My guess is that you don't work for FedEx, but if you do, you are so clueless and ignorant that it's hard to believe. Keep on posting this crap, and I'll keep blowing you away. I'm still waiting for all of those PM's to be posted that I supposedly sent you. If you're going to lie, at least be intelligent about it. No truce....that's the PM you sent ME, begging to stop slamming your sorry butt. You are pathetic.

I just realized I made an omission in my last post. Since you say you work for FedEx, please take this opportunity to correct my oversight. I'll even give you a clue...it has to do with my statement regarding the PPP. "The time is up, the pens are down"....the Final Jeopardy answer is? You should wager ZERO, OK?

No response, FedEx4Life? I'm not surprised. My error was in not stating that there is a tiny retirement payout associated with the PPP. Nobody could actually live off it because it ranges from about $50-$125 or so per month, depending on your years of service. Wow...that's some serious money there. Maybe 2 tanks of gas or a week of groceries for a single person. That is what FedEx calls a "pension". You're a bright boy. How do you plan to retire on that lavish sum combined with an equally tiny PPP lump sum payout when your back or something else gives out and FedEx forces you out the door? I'm guessing you'll be toting bags out to cars at Safeway when you're 75.

I choose not to take part in writing a letter fro UPS on the clock, but I did send an email before UPS asked the employees. I received a reply today from one of my senators.

Thank you for contacting me regarding provisions in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization that would change FedEx's labor status under the law. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.

The House-passed version of the FAA reauthorization bill included provisions that would reclassify FedEx and change the rules governing its labor relations. Currently, Federal Express's labor relations are governed by the Railway Labor Act. If the company is reclassified, it will be governed by the National Labor Relations Act. Among other things, the change would allow most FedEx workers to form local unions instead of being able to form only a national union.

Local unions play a valuable role in protecting workers in the workplace, securing health benefits that are crucial to American families, and helping companies develop and maintain a highly skilled workforce. Reclassifying FedEx will help level the playing field, placing all shipping companies under the same labor laws and allowing workers to organize and stand together to secure needed workplace rights and benefits at the local level.

The House-passed version of the FAA reauthorization has been referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. I will keep your views on this issue in mind as the legislation is considered in the Senate.

Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to keep in touch.

Sincerely, <IMG width=240 height=60>
