The Secretary of State Tony Blinken did make a good point tonight on "60 Minutes." Russia could end this war at any time by just withdrawing. Ukraine on the other hand if it stops fighting it ceases to be a nation.
Russia is going through sham elections in the Donbas region right now "to see" if the areas it occupies want to be part of Russia. After that's over, and they now claim that as part of Russia, Ukraine should just let them have it and sue for peace. But the Ukrainians are saying they aren't going to give up any territory and after recent success they're confident they can win it back. So expect this to go a lot longer and if Putin gets desperate there's no telling what he might do.
